The Rumpke Recycling & Resource Center is a 226,000-square-foot recycling processing facility in Columbus, Ohio. This $100 million investment employs about 60 people and uses advanced recycling technology to sort and recover recyclable materials. Its equipment includes four ballistic separators, 19 optical scanners and AI technology to optimize material sorting capabilities and provide greater support to Ohio's circular economy.

Yes, you can schedule a tour at The Rumpke Recycling & Resource Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. Guests must be ages 10 and older, and tour groups can have a maximum of 30 people. The facility includes an interactive Education Center developed in collaboration with COSI and The Ohio State University, along with an elevated tour platform overlooking the recycling process.
What will I see on a tour of the Rumpke Recycling & Resource Center?
On the tour of the Rumpke Recycling & Resource Center, you'll see the entire recycling process in action! During the tour, our tour guide will take you onto an elevated tour platform used exclusively for safely touring the active facility. The platform is 150 feet long and 45 feet high!
You will also see and interact with models and digital games of the facility's recycling equipment in the Education Center.
