These Email Communications Terms & Conditions (“Email Terms”) explain how Rumpke Waste & Recycling (“Rumpke,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) uses email to communicate with individuals and describe your rights and choices related to email communications from us.

These Email Terms supplement, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy, which governs how personal information is collected, used, and protected.

1. Types of Email Communications

Rumpke may send email communications for the following purposes, depending on your relationship with us and your communication preferences:

a. Account & Service Notifications

Operational emails sent to support service delivery and account management, including:

  • Service confirmations or updates
  • Route delays or schedule changes
  • Holiday service notices
  • Account changes or confirmations
  • Responses to inquiries or form submissions

These communications are considered essential to providing or managing Rumpke services.

b. Billing & Payment Communications

Where applicable, Rumpke may send emails related to billing and account balances, including:

  • Statements or invoices
  • Payment reminders
  • Payment confirmations
  • Notices related to service impact due to account status

Billing communications are operational in nature and may be sent as necessary to support account administration.

c. Education & Community Information

Informational emails intended to provide helpful guidance or resources, including:

  • Recycling and trash guidelines
  • Service best practices
  • Educational program or tour confirmations
  • Community or sustainability initiatives

These emails are not promotional and are intended to improve customer understanding and service outcomes.

d. Marketing & Promotional Communications

With your consent, Rumpke may send marketing or promotional emails, such as:

  • Special offers or promotions
  • Announcements about new or expanded services
  • Company news or updates
  • Recruitment or career-related information

Marketing and promotional emails are optional and subject to your communication preferences.

2. Consent & Communication Preferences

By providing your email address to Rumpke—such as through our website, customer portals, or form submissions—you consent to receive email communications consistent with your selected preferences and applicable law.

You may manage your email preferences at any time by:

  • Clicking the unsubscribe link included in marketing emails, or
  • Updating your preferences through available preference management tools, where provided

Unsubscribing from marketing or promotional emails does not prevent Rumpke from sending operational emails related to your account, service, or billing where permitted by law.

Changes to preferences may take up to 48 hours to take effect.

3. Email Frequency

Email frequency varies based on the type of communication and your interaction with Rumpke.
Operational emails are sent as needed to support service delivery, while marketing and promotional emails are sent periodically.

4. SMS & Other Communications

Rumpke may also communicate via SMS/MMS or other channels, subject to separate consent and applicable terms.

For SMS/MMS messages:

  • Message frequency varies
  • Message and data rates may apply
  • Reply STOP to unsubscribe from a specific SMS program
  • Reply HELP for assistance

Opting out of SMS messages does not automatically unsubscribe you from email communications, and vice versa.

5. Accuracy of Contact Information

You are responsible for providing and maintaining an accurate email address. Rumpke is not responsible for email communications that are delayed, undelivered, or misdirected due to outdated or incorrect contact information.

6. No Guarantee of Delivery

While Rumpke makes reasonable efforts to deliver email communications reliably, delivery is subject to factors outside our control, including email provider settings, spam filtering, network availability, and device configurations. Rumpke does not guarantee the receipt or timeliness of email messages.

7. Data Use & Privacy

Information collected in connection with email communications is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, shared, and protected.

Email communications may include tracking technologies (such as open or click tracking) to help us evaluate communication effectiveness and improve customer experience.

8. Third-Party Service Providers
